Career overview

How the India career developed.

This overview connects role, debuts and format context using the dated records listed below.

Yuvraj Singh entered India’s ODI side in October 2000 and developed into a left-handed middle-order batter who could change a limited-overs match with power, fielding and useful spin. His career numbers are strongest in ODIs: 304 matches, 8,701 runs and 111 wickets.

His major-tournament record defines much of his India career. He struck six sixes in one over against England during the 2007 World Twenty20 and was named Player of the Tournament at the 2011 Cricket World Cup after contributing with both bat and ball.

Yuvraj also played 40 Tests and 58 T20Is. The format split matters: his Test career was intermittent, while his white-ball role combined middle-order acceleration with left-arm spin and athletic fielding.
