Career overview
How the India career developed.
This overview connects role, debuts and format context using the dated records listed below.
Sachin Tendulkar entered Test cricket against Pakistan in November 1989 and played his first ODI the following month. A right-handed top-order batter, he adapted across changing eras of bowling, equipment and limited-overs tactics while remaining a central figure in India’s batting for more than two decades.
His completed Test record stands at 200 matches, 15,921 runs and 51 hundreds. In ODIs he played 463 matches, scored 18,426 runs and made 49 hundreds. He appeared once in T20 internationals, against South Africa in December 2006, and took one wicket in that match.
Tendulkar became the first man to score an ODI double century when he made 200 not out against South Africa in February 2010. He was part of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning side and reached 100 international centuries in March 2012 before ending his Test career in Mumbai in November 2013.
Reddy Anna Sports Life presents those achievements as a completed, format-separated record. The page does not combine Tests, ODIs and T20Is into a single match total or use franchise statistics as India international figures.

Career totals use the latest match date shown by the checked player record. Formats may have different snapshot dates.
| Format | Matches | Runs | 100s | 50s | Wickets | Through |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tests | 200 | 15,921 | 51 | 68 | 46 | 14 Nov 2013 |
| ODIs | 463 | 18,426 | 49 | 96 | 154 | 18 Mar 2012 |
| T20Is | 1 | 10 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 Dec 2006 |
These are format-specific snapshots, not one combined career number. A format without a debut is stated plainly instead of displaying a misleading zero-match career.
